Expertise

Our field surveys bring the experience:
Over the past 40 years, Aderco has also built-up a formidable reputation in relation to its strong technical expertise, with the Aderco Technical team having surveyed over 5.000 vessels and more than 100 power generation plants.
Over many years, with each case often being widely different, the Aderco Technical team has forged and built-up extensive knowledge and wide experience around the world, connecting fuel related issues with associated engine challenges. To this end, customers are not only supported when they face such issues but, in addition, we offer preventative advice to avoid the challenges typically encountered with marine and industrial fuels.

Fuel competence

Aderco’s fuel treatment technology products come with years of extensive research and development. As such, we are able to tailor each treatment solution to overcome respective fuel issues, whether originating from HSFO, VLSFO, MGO, Light Distillates or Bio-Fuels.
Aderco fuel treatment surfactant technology enables operations to run at higher performance levels for longer periods. While minimizing the risks of engine stoppage, our treatment solutions are especially designed and formulated to meet the specific challenges of your operational environment. Ongoing research & development, as well as follow-up monitoring carried out by the Aderco Technical team, clearly shows improvements in respect of the following fuels.

Fuel Types

VLSFO

  • Increases Fuel Stability and Compatibility
  • Stabilizes blend between heavy and light components
  • Disperses the Asphaltenes homogenously
  • Minimizes the sludge formation on tank bottoms
  • Disperses High Micro Carbon Residues
  • Positive impact on TSP & TSA
  • Helps to keep filters cleaner
  • Keeps the purifiers at optimum efficiency
  • Enhances fuel injection & combustion
  • Maximizes water settlement
  • Increases drainage of Cat-fines

HSFO

  • Minimizes risk of compatibility issues
  • Maintains disbursement of asphaltenes
  • Prevents sludge deposit on filters & purifiers
  • Enhances injection & combustion
  • Minimizes impact of high CCAI
  • Reduces vanadium corrosion
  • Minimizes fouling in the exhaust system
  • Keeps the Exhaust Gas Scrubber cleaner

MGO & Light Distillate

  • Prevents oxidation, gum formation and varnish formation
  • Settles down water
  • Prevents Bacteria growth
  • Prevents sludge deposits
  • Reduces the lack of fuel lubricity

Bio-Fuels (7% to 100%)

  • Prevents Oxidation
  • Settles down water
  • Prevents bacterial growth
  • Keeps PH stale

REACH V

We confirm that all Aderco products are in compliance with Regulation (EC) N. 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18th December 2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH).

CALIFORNIA

We confirm that all Aderco products are NOT listed in the California Proposition 65 list of substances (previously named "Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986"). The proposition 65 is a list of chemicals known to the state of California to be carcinogens or reproductive toxicants. Aderco products are non-restricted for use under the tight regulations of California.

SECA

MARPOL Annex VI contains provisions allowing for special SOx Emission Control Areas (SECAs) to be established with stringent controls on sulphur emissions. In SECA zones, the sulphur content of fuel oil used on board ships must not currently exceed 0.5% as an effort to limit shipping emission in fragile environments. Aderco L1050 lubricity additive is readily available to overcome lubricity problems encountered with ULSD (0.1%) and other low sulphur fuels used in protected areas. Low sulphur fuels, in combination with Aderco L1050, release much less SOx emissions in the environment and enable the ship owner to meet MARPOL regulations while protecting the fuel pump, injection system and the entire operation prior to the combustion phase.
