Message from our CEO

Olivier Baiwir
As a leading company in our sector, we believe it is important not only to share our values but also to live them. Sustainability is one of the main topics and issues we strive to address, both internally in our culture and products, and externally with our customers, suppliers and partners. That is why we are committed to continuing to act on the goals we have set for ourselves, in each of the pillars and across all of our activities, to demonstrate that our actions are converging in a consistent way towards a more sustainable, low-carbon future for our people, our partners, our customers and the environment.

Follow our projects

Ocean Protection

Ocean Purpose Project
Ocean Quest
Ocean Quest based in France and Ocean Purpose Project based in Singapore are both association closed to our heart in term of ocean protection.
In Europe, we contribute to help the association Ocean Quest. Its mission is to rehabilitate and safeguard the reefs that are gradually disappearing worldwide (due to global warming, dynamite fishing, etc.). It is essential to maintain a balance of life necessary for local populations.
In Asia, we support OPP (Ocean Purposed Project) for their researches in bioremediation (creating bioplastics using native seaweeds and mussels used to filter toxins and capture carbon) and coral reforastion in East Bali.

Medical Care

Mercy Ships
Leman Hope
Aderco supports Mercy Ships, an international charity that operates the largest non-governmental hospital ships in the world, providing humanitarian aid like free health care, community development projects, community health education, mental health programs, agriculture projects, and palliative care for terminally ill patients.

Aderco joins SP80’s daring quest

SP80
Aderco becomes an Official Supporter of SP80 in its quest for the world sailing speed record! SP80 is a team of highly skilled EPFL engineers and students who are combining sailing, kiteboarding and engineering with the bold purpose of outperforming the current world sailing speed record. The team is currently building a trimaran boat, able to reach 80 knots (150 km/h) with the wind as its sole source of power. SP80 envisions unique solutions and daring concepts that have great potential in the sailing world. But their approach goes beyond just breaking a record : they eventually hope to demonstrate the application of a new set of technologies and tools in fast marine transport, offshore sailing and energy production, which can lead to quite a revolution in the industry.

REACH V

We confirm that all Aderco products are in compliance with Regulation (EC) N. 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18th December 2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH).

CALIFORNIA

We confirm that all Aderco products are NOT listed in the California Proposition 65 list of substances (previously named "Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986"). The proposition 65 is a list of chemicals known to the state of California to be carcinogens or reproductive toxicants. Aderco products are non-restricted for use under the tight regulations of California.

SECA

MARPOL Annex VI contains provisions allowing for special SOx Emission Control Areas (SECAs) to be established with stringent controls on sulphur emissions. In SECA zones, the sulphur content of fuel oil used on board ships must not currently exceed 0.5% as an effort to limit shipping emission in fragile environments. Aderco L1050 lubricity additive is readily available to overcome lubricity problems encountered with ULSD (0.1%) and other low sulphur fuels used in protected areas. Low sulphur fuels, in combination with Aderco L1050, release much less SOx emissions in the environment and enable the ship owner to meet MARPOL regulations while protecting the fuel pump, injection system and the entire operation prior to the combustion phase.
